  • Anti-Bullying – Montclair Public Schools — Prohibiting harassment, intimidation and bullying on school property, at any school-sponsored event, on school buses, or off school grounds.
  • EDGE New Jersey — The mission of EDGE New Jersey is to respond compassionately and responsibly to the HIV+ and LGBTQ+ communities by providing supportive services, housing opportunities, prevention strategies and education to enhance the community we serve.
  • Garden State Equality — Garden State Equality is New Jersey’s statewide advocacy and education organization for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community. Services include advocacy, policy work, and trainings.
  • Healthy Transitions — With an office in Montclair, Healthy Transitions is a private medical practice that proudly serves transgender, nonbinary, and gender-creative people across the lifespan. We provide medical care, advice, and information for the gender explorers, professionals, and curious among us all.
  • Helping Survivors — Helping Survivor’s mission is to assist anyone who has been victimized by sexual assault or abuse. Our website is a compilation of information around different instances of sexual violence. We offer resources to assist survivors and their families, and we will continuously be adding more.   • Hetrick-Martin Institute: New Jersey — HMI believes all young people, regardless of sexual orientation or identity, deserve a safe and supportive environment in which to achieve their full potential. Hetrick-Martin provides free year-round programs and services for LGBTQ youth and allies ages 13-21.
  • HiTOPS — HiTOPS fosters strong and healthy young people of all identities by providing inclusive and youth-informed sex education and LGBTQ+ support for young people throughout New Jersey.
  • Montclair Helps — Montclair Helps recognizes that many members of the Montclair community are one unexpected expense away from financial devastation. Working with our long serving community partners and trusted non-profits, Montclair Helps deliver emergency relief to the most vulnerable within our community. Montclair Helps acts quickly with little bureaucracy to solve the small problems that would otherwise cascade into big problems.
  • PFLAG of North Jersey — PFLAG promotes the health and well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons, their families and friends through: support, to cope with an adverse society; education, to enlighten an ill-informed public; and advocacy, to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights. Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays provides opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity.
  • The Pride Center of New Jersey — The mission of The Pride Center is to provide a safe and welcoming space for all individuals who identify as LGBTQ to find support, educational tools, health and education resources, and social opportunities within a community of acceptance. Comprehensive programming in support of this mission includes lesbian, gay, trans and family resources, social groups and free HIV testing.

National Resources

  • GLSEN — Every student has the right to a safe, supportive, and LGBTQ-inclusive K-12 education. We are a national network of educators, students, and local GLSEN Chapters working to make this right a reality.
  • Human Rights Campaign — By inspiring and engaging individuals and communities, the Human Rights Campaign strives to end discrimination against LGBTQ people and realize a world that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all. HRC envisions a world where lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people are ensured equality and embraced as full members of society at home, at work and in every community.
  • Lambda Legal — Lambda Legal is a national organization committed to achieving full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and everyone living with HIV through impact litigation, education and public policy work.
  • National LGBTQ Task Force. — The National LGBTQ Task Force advances full freedom, justice and equality for LGBTQ people. We are building a future where everyone can be free to be their entire selves in every aspect of their lives.
