A screening of the award-winning documentary, Going to Mars: The Nikki Giovanni Project, co-presented by Out Montclair and the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Montclair’s Social Justice Coalition, Out Front, and Undoing Racism Teams.

Join us in UUCM’s welcoming sanctuary to see this award-winning documentary about the enduring influence of Nikki Giovanni, one of America’s greatest living artists and social commentators. Visually stunning treatments of Ms. Giovanni’s poetry, and Giovanni’s own captivating contemporary performances make this a must-see in community for Pride Month.

This ground-breaking documentary travels through space and time to reveal Nikki Giovanni’s enduring influence as one of the world’s greatest living artists and social commentators. With a running time of one-hour and thirty-six minutes, this important film reckons with the inevitable passing of time by examining Giovanni’s memory and her involvement in historical moments.

Danielle Earle, producer, writer, and director, will moderate a post-event illuminating conversation.
