Out Montclair 50+
Social and Educational Awareness for our 50+ Community
FIFTYPLUS@OUTMONTCLAIR.ORG
Mission
Our program for adults 50 and over aims to build community, create safe spaces for self-expression and meeting new friends, as well as educate the public about issues facing the community while helping provide resources and information to support older LGBTQIA+ people.
Our 50+ events blend social interaction and support, and offer ongoing learning and discussion about topics of special interest to our thriving community. We’ve brought together experts for a panel discussion answering questions about health care and financial planning. We’ve co-hosted movie matinees and talkbacks with Montclair Film, and events to practice our artistic talents with Montclair Art Museum curators. Our speed friending events are legendary. We always move fast, and hold fast, to our new friends!
We also welcome opportunities to bring generations together, to collaborate with LGBTQIA+ youth and families, to share experiences and make history together. We’re 50+ and we’re just getting started! (EDITED BS)
